About Pricilla
Hi! I am Pricilla Janelle, MHC-LP, a mental health counselor in New York City and the founder of Progress With Pricilla. In my clinical work, I help adolescents, adults, and couples overcome an array of challenges including anxiety, depression, life adjustments, communication skills, and related issues.
I believe every client is unique, and treatment should be tailored to individual needs. Therefore, I carefully assess each client and provide a comprehensive treatment plan that is goal-oriented, evidence-based, culturally relevant, and individually inspired.
As a proud Latina and a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, especially in the Latinx community, I am committed to making a difference. When I am not in the therapy room, you can find me taking a stroll around Central Park, attending a yoga class, or trying new restaurants around NYC.
We're just human beings living life for the first time.
My Journey and Expertise
I completed my graduate studies at Nova Southeastern University, where I studied Counseling with a focus in Clinical Mental Health and graduated with high honors. Additionally, I studied Psychology at Florida State University and am a member of the American Counseling Association and Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society.
During my clinical internship, I became well-versed in various treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which I apply in the therapy room.
